Detailed Nation Overview:Gaveria is a Presidential Republic located in the Southern Hemisphere. Gaveria was originally Joint Dutch & English colony founded in the early to mid 1700s in order to give the Dutch an opportunity to expand their colonial possessions and give the English Empire an alternate source of resources, as the American colonies were heating up in relation to the French & Indian War. The colony flourished as few other colonial powers were active in the region and was generally a model overseas possession for its master. However in the aftermath of the American Revolutionary War and Independence, the Gaverian settlers also caught the Independence bug and launched their own campaign for independence, that while originally received little traction among the locals, became a full fledged rebellion as the Empire attempted to prevent the loss of an additional source of revenue. The Gaverian War of Independence was a short but brutal affair that resulted in Independence and full autonomy for the new Republic.

After achieving nationhood, the new republic focused their attentions on preserving their state and strengthening their economy through industrialization.This period of Industrialization and Militarization of the Republic continued until the late 1800s when the Republic was involved in its first extra-regional conflict that resulted in a stunning defeat, whose effects could be felt generations later. In the aftermath of that war, the Republic resorted to isolationism, a policy that dominated Republican politics until the outbreak of World War I, when the Republic became one of the chief producers of munitions for the Allies until the end of the War.

After the war, Gaveria continued to manufacture arms for any nation with the funding to pay for them and was ostracized from International Society in response, until the outbreak of the second world war. During World two, the Republic joined the conflict on the side of the allies after the Germans foolishly attempted to force the Republic to cease arms shipments to the Allies and began sinking Gaverian commercial shipping as retaliation.

Gaverian troops served valiantly on the Western Front and participated in the occupation of Germany. After WWII, Gaveria allied with the Western Powers against the Soviet Union during the Cold War and was a key recipient of the Soviet Union's covert espionage efforts.

After the Fall of the USSR, The Republic has sought to assert itself as an independent power, away from the shadow of the USA.

So generally speaking, Gaverian society is American in nature with a European twist. Christianity is the dominate religion and is considerably more radical than mainstream religion and has notably bordered on fundamentalism at times. Gaverian history plays a large part in the current political and cultural atmosphere of the nation and Gaverians are generally calm,hard working and religious. As a rule, foreigners should keep their opinions to themselves and stray away from Religious or Political topics during their stay, for their own safety.
